In an attempt to foster an understanding of the Native viewpoint, we offer this:

If you wanted us to stop considering our Nations sovereign,
If you wanted us to forego talking about the abrogation of legal treaties
If you wanted us to ignore the injustices of the past
If you wanted us to dishonor our heroic ancestors
If you wanted us to forget the beauty of our cultures
If you wanted us to abandon our spiritual responsibilities
If you wanted us to disavow our tribal relationships
If you wanted us to agree to the destruction of our environment
If you wanted us to accept any pollution of our natural resources and
If you wanted us to applaud a system that has never represented our interests
…then you should have killed us all.

We have, and will, survive as Tribal Peoples within Sovereign Nations,
enjoying all the rights guaranteed by:
Our Creator,
Government to Government Relationships,
Eternally-binding Constitutionally-guaranteed Treaties of the United States, And/Or globally accepted modern moral principles.

When this is understood and accepted by our neighbors, then we can move forward as Nations, and as Peoples, to create a better life for all of our children.
